Fantasy/Science Fiction

 I am not a fan of science fiction. I do not like the idea of extremely unrealistic and fantasy-like things happening. I prefer novels that are more realistic and have the ability to happen in real life. I enjoy books that have a story close to everyday life. I believe I can relate more to those stories that are more common. I am not opposed to either topic, but I just prefer a story that is more realistic and not full of magic and sci-fi things.

I am not familiar with lots of fantasy locations, so I would have to say Hogwarts. It is a huge kingdom full of wizards, that seems pretty cool. It is full of crazy magical things and is full of all types of people. I personally wouldn't want to go there because it is dangerous. It's not common for wizards to fight in my street, but for Hogwarts, it is. It is just a very dangerous place to go because you are surrounded by all types of magic and hostile people and you don't know who to trust. There's also an evil wizard trying to take over, and that seems pretty dangerous for a rookie in magic. Hogwarts would be the coolest place to be, but it would be too dangerous for me to live there in real life.

    I can agree with you not wanting to actually live at Hogwarts, but would you consider living somewhere that is like Hogwarts if it was safe? Or are all fantasy/sci-fi places off the table for you?

Course Reflection

Contemporary Literature Course Reflection  I signed up for this course because I thought it would be a blowoff class. This class far exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed this class because it forced me to read books and I actually enjoyed reading. The book choices were so fun.      My favorite novel that we read in class this semester was "The Art of Racing in The Rain". I really enjoyed the realistic problems that Denny was thrown into and the idea of the dog being the narrator. I really enjoyed most novels we read in class but this one was definitely my favorite.     My favorite project was the This I Believe. I really enjoyed getting to explain how I feel and what I believe in. I enjoyed being able to use personal experiences to discuss why I feel a certain way about something. Literacy Project reflection

 Literacy Project Reflection My project was social media posts. I posted three times and used Instagram as my platform. I had a link to an article in my bio and also a link to a video about reading there. I wanted to spread facts about reading and help support people to read. I used a handful of different messages to get my point across.
