Reading Campaign Proposal

Reading Campaign Proposal

To grasp the attention of the majority of the high, I have chosen to do a social media campaign. I believe that it is the most effective way to get other high schoolers to view it. Posters hanging around the school go unnoticed all the time, but a social media account always gets an initial view. I believe that most students are on some type of social media and will see my campaign, even if they don’t want to. They might see me from a story repost or see my account as a recommended account. There will be a couple posts spanned out within a few days. The posts will have an attention-grabbing image and a quote about reading. There will be a hashtag and it will be #readersareleaders. That will be my hashtag because it’s catchy and shares a simple message. I will be posting on Instagram because I feel most confident that it will be the most engaging social media I could use. In the bio of the Instagram page, I will have links to videos and websites that are also encouraging reading. I will have links to short videos, because they grasp the attention of high school students the best. The other websites will just help back up my message in case students feel hesitant to listen to me. I will post right after school. I think that is the most strategic time to post because as soon as the students leave the school, they check their phones right away. It will get my posts the most activity. My social media campaign will be successful due to strategic planning to get the most activity on my social media account

  1. I think this is a great start, but what days will you be posting? Also, I found it confusing what you will be posting, will it be books or just pictures of people reading books or just videos?

    1. Just a couple days throughout the week. My posts will be fun to look at things that promote reading. There will be a mix of videos and photos.

  2. Do you plan on getting other students to repost your posts in order to spread the word further?

  3. You said you'll post links to reading encouragement sites, will you also be spreading those tips on the account itself? A lot of kids probably won't want to read a secondary article or watch a video about why they should read.

  4. Do you think you use multiple social medias, if not then why?

  5. for the short videos, I'd say either repost or share them through the app, Idk if people want to leave the site to get to an outside video
