Narrators

 My favorite narrator is Tim O'Brien from The Things They Carried. In this novel, Tim O'Brien narrates all of the stories told in the book. The interesting part is that he is not the main character in every story. I really enjoy 1st person narration, but with a twist on it. It's interesting to have someone who is not the main character of a story tell the story. That is why I enjoyed The Things They Carried so much. It adds a unique aspect of narration that is not seen too often. Tim O'Brien is in a platoon of soldiers and tells a variety of war stories. The cool part is that he makes each story about a certain person, and they are the main characters for that story. It is cool to see the perspective O'Brien adds to the stories because he was a spectator during these stories. 


    This is my favorite type of narration and favorite narrator in general. I enjoy it so much because it is just so much more unique than other stories. It spices them up and makes the book a whole lot more interesting. I believe that others would enjoy this type of narration for the same reason I do. It is just a different look into books and is something that just is not seen that much. I believe that it makes the book so much more enjoyable and fun to read. Others should read this book and take a look into the type of narration offered in it, and I believe lots will find enjoyment in reading such a unique novel.

Course Reflection

Contemporary Literature Course Reflection  I signed up for this course because I thought it would be a blowoff class. This class far exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed this class because it forced me to read books and I actually enjoyed reading. The book choices were so fun.      My favorite novel that we read in class this semester was "The Art of Racing in The Rain". I really enjoyed the realistic problems that Denny was thrown into and the idea of the dog being the narrator. I really enjoyed most novels we read in class but this one was definitely my favorite.     My favorite project was the This I Believe. I really enjoyed getting to explain how I feel and what I believe in. I enjoyed being able to use personal experiences to discuss why I feel a certain way about something.  Literacy Project Reflection My project was social media posts. I posted three times and used Instagram as my platform. I had a link to an article in my bio and also a link to a video about reading there. I wanted to spread facts about reading and help support people to read. I used a handful of different messages to get my point across.
